Poem: Story of Non-Resident Indians (NRIs)

In lands afar, where dreams take flight,
NRIs walk a path both dark and bright.
They miss the tapri chai, its comforting brew,
But keep sipping coffee, a taste which grew.

Mother’s food, a taste of childhood and joy,
In distant lands, they rarely get to enjoy.
Yet in Indian restaurants, a glimpse of home,
Where familiar flavours, softly roam.

Earning well, a desire so strong,
To build a future, where they belong.
Yet torn between money’s allure,
And the love of land, forever pure.

Safety beckons from foreign shores,
But longing for home, their heart implores.
A struggle eternal, a choice so grand,
To settle abroad, or return to their land.

NRIs, seekers of fortune’s gleam,
Balancing between dream and esteem.
In the foreign land, they soar to new hights,
But, thoughts of home, linger through their nights.
